Rayan- unfortunately, these "sea planes" or "air taxis" have been stopped since last year for safety reasons (when the Tamil rebels fired a rocket at the main airport). Anyway, if you time it well (i.e: avoid Colombo rush hour) you can get to Galle in two and half hours from Colombo airport and with the sea plane, by the time you have to check in (an hour before), fly (30 minutes), and then get to Galle from Koggala Lake where it lands (30 minutes), it's hardly worth the trouble and expense. The good news is that the building of a new main road is underway, which will make the Colombo-Galle travel time just one hour only!

Let me know if you have any more questions- glad to help! :-)

I like to visit srilanka. I found AmamGalla on my web research.
Looks interesting.
I have read much about amangalla in many blogs.
And I have seen some air transfers available from the main airport to cut down the waste of timings traveling on ground.
are there any?? If so are they reliable??
